Fitness Certification in Mat, Allegro and Studio is available to personal
trainers and group exercise instructors, as well as instructors of movement
arts such as dance, yoga, and Tai Chi, and practitioners of somatic movement
such as Feldenkrais® and Alexander® techniques. Polestar offers the most
comprehensive certification exams in the field of Pilates-evolved techniques.
Mat Certification
The Mat Certification exam consists of three parts:
1) A one-hour written exam consisting of 50 multiple choice questions
(50 points)

exercise performance as a ‘student’ in a class of 6-10 candidates. Candidates
will be evaluated on exercise modification, sequencing, accuracy, verbal
and tactile cueing and the quality of the instruction. (50 points)
The written portion of the exam (parts 1 and 2) lasts approximately two
hours in total, and part 3 lasts approximately one hour. The entire exam
is worth a total of 150 points. The candidate will need a collective passing
score of 120 points or higher to achieve Certification.
