POLESTAR® Pilates Conference - Hong Kong

A unique continuing education opportunity for Pilates Professionals. As most of you already know we will be hosting a Pilates Conference in Hong Kong over the weekend 9 & 10 April 2011 comprising a host of Master classes and workshops conducted by true Pilates Masters including Deborah Lessen, Alexander Bohlander, Dawnna Wayburne, Brenton Surgenor and more. Although most of the programme will focus on Pilates, we will be offering an interesting selection of non-Pilates movement sessions all of which will give that extra edge to Pilates professionals when teaching or treating their clients.
Somatic Programme
Bones
for Life, Somatic movement, Sotai. These are just a handful of
workshops and classes we plan to offer with experts in those fields
guiding you through their somatic world and opening up your minds and
bodies to new a creative movement possibilities that will enhance your
Pilates repertoire.
No Comprehensive training is required for this series.
Choose your focus area
We
will schedule a variety of workshops and Master Classes in both
Mat/Reformer and the Rehab/Studio streams which participants can choose -
depending on their area of expertise and experience. 16 Polestar CECs
will be awarded for 16 hours attendance and 8 CECs will be awarded for 8 hours attendence.
We will be sending out registration forms very soon to you and will also post it on the Polestar Asia website.
As Polestar has not hosted a conference in Hong Kong for 2 years, priority will be given to Hong Kong residents
for registrations made before 31st January 2011. This is a unique
continuing education opportunity. Spaces are limited and will be
allocated on a first come-first served basis-to be sure to book early! You don't want to miss out.
Who should attend?
Pilates
professionals - graduates of Polestar and other schools in Pilates Mat,
Reformer, Studio and Rehabilitation who wish to take their understanding
of the work and teaching skills to the next level.
2 days attendance earns 16 Polestar CECs and 1 day 8 Polestar CECs.
Pre Conference Course - Advanced Spine (Now known as Pathokinesiology of the Lumbar Spine)
Alexander Bohlander will be presenting the fantastic 16-hour Polestar Continuing Education Course, Advanced Spine, designed for experienced Studio and Rehab practitioners. This will take place on Thursday/Friday 7th/8th April 2011.
The Advanced Spine Course is part of the Polestar Master Teacher programme and earns 16 Polestar CECs,

About the Presenters
Deborah Lessen
Think history, think Carola, one of Joe's original students, who studied with Joe Pilates for 10 years. Deborah Lessen,
a Carola trained expert and former "Director" of PMA (Pilates Method
Alliance) is coming back to Asia to share her amazing in-depth
knowledge with regard to the theoretical and practical developments made
to the Pilates method by Joseph Pilates's first protégé, Carola Strauss
Trier.
Alexander Bohlander
For those Rehab and Studio Practitioners, Alexander Bohlander,
PT, osteopath, Polestar Master Trainer and Licensee for Germany will be
offering some in depth Patho-Kinesiology workshops that will bring
enormous benefit to the rehab and studio practitioner alike, enabling
you to take your work to a new level as a Pilates professional.
Brenton Surgenor
Brenton has a broad knowledge
of Pilates and somatic practices and combines this with dance science in his
work. He has presented workshops and seminars in Australia, New Zealand,
Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Brenton has a Bachelors degree in Physical
Education, a Masters in Dance Studies, and is currently Senior Lecturer
(Academic Studies in Dance) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
