Polestar Pilates Summer Seminar
There was a star studded tour of Asia in the summer of 2009-was it the Rolling Stones? The B-Gees? No. The 3 Tenors? No. It was the 3 Dees-Deborah Lessen, Dav Cohen and Dawnna Wayburne. These well known Pilates presenters were augmented by Polestar Asia Mentors/Educators Samantha Robinson, Rika Aono, Shinji Nakamura and Daniel Dittmar who presented participants with some awesome workshops.
The Polestar Summer Seminars kicked off in Taipei on the 4/5 July with just under 50 people attending and learning from the world class workshops presented by Samantha Robinson, Dav Cohen, Dawnna Wayburne and Deborah Lessen. As usual Allan Chiu assisted by Rita and his team out did themselves in organizing and hosting the event.
The Taipei Seminar packed full of workshops presented by Deborah, Dawnna and Sam, was followed by the annual Polestar Asia Educator and Mentor seminar on the 6/7/8 July during which the participants numbering just short of 40 of our educators and mentors from all over Asia and Pilates teachers, were treated to Dav Cohen presenting the remarkable Polestar Advanced Assessment 2 Course. If you are a Pilates teacher and you missed the Advanced Assessment 2 course in Taipei, make sure you attend next time round. It is packed full of information you can easily apply to your clients.

After Taipei, the presenter team moved to Fukuoka where Dr Takeda , Makiko and his team laid on a great 2 days of Polestar Seminar for close to 70 people. On day 1, 11th July, Debora Lessen treated the participants to a fantastic spread of workshops and Dav took over the next day before heading off to join Dawnna and Deborah in Tokyo where they had already completed the 1st day of the Tokyo Seminar.

This Seminar was very competently hosted by Renaissance (Kenzo, Maiko and team) on 12/13 July and was attended by over 70 people. The participants relished the workshops presented by the 3 Dees, Rika and Shinji. After some sad goodbyes to our Japanese family, Deborah and Dawnna headed off to Seoul and Dav to Singapore.

In Seoul Korea , Korea Pilates Association, headed up By Prof Hong-Jo and her team hosted a small but extremely successful seminar for 25 people on 15/16 July. Dawnna and Deborah had a great time in Seoul before flying off the Singapore to join Dav who had already completed 2 days of pre Seminar Workshops on 16/17 July.
The Pre Seminar workshops in Singapore were fully subscribed long before and this was followed by the Singapore Seminar 18/19 July hosted magnificently by Focus Pilates for aprox. 80 people. After a wonderful 2 days of workshops presented by the 3 Dees and Daniel , the team finally came to the end of the long but hugely enjoyable Polestar Asia Seminar 2009 journey. All in all a job brilliantly executed by all concerned reinforcing the Polestar support and continuing education ethos which remains such an important part of building an unrivaled and closely knit network of superb Pilates instructors throughout Asia. We look forward to meeting everyone again next year!
